Kindergarten Day!

Yesterday was a very exciting day for Miriam! It was Kindergarten Day!

Miriam colored a picture for her teacher :-) She did this page all by herself. I didn't even tell her to write the first letter of each animal, she just figured that out herself. I love how the owl starts with an A lol (Say it out loud... that is what it sounds like) :-)  and the moose is a deer <3  I wrote Mrs. DeWit  and Teacher on another paper and she copied it. Then she wrote her own name on the bottom.

All ready to go!!

So excited!

A hook and cubby with her name on it!

Dylan wanted to stay... so many fun toys in that room!

Garden 2012 :-)

Finally, some pictures of my garden :-)
Also, pics of 3 houseplants I'm babysitting while my in-laws build their new house :-)

In the back veggi garden we planted Beans, Sugar Snap Peas, Spinach, Lettuce, and Swiss Chard.
Also, a garden of 12 tomato plants and 6 pots with herbs in them :-)

My Iris' are blooming! I really wish they didn't squish out my lily's though :-P

Beans are coming up

So is the spinach

The peas were the first to come up (sugar snap peas, Yum!)

Tomato plants 6 are burpee big boy and 6 are early girls. The early girls already have flower buds!

Lookin' good

Herbs! ... I don't remember which is which :-P but there is some basil, oregano, chives, stevia, parsley, 2 of the pots have been knocked over so we'll see if anything comes up in them :-P

Yum! Supper :-)

I love stew! I usually would have added spinach as well but I was too lazy today :-P paired up with a salad it's a yummy warm supper for a rainy day.
Upon request here is the recipe :-)
(all the amounts are approximate since I actually just throw things in and don't measure anything except the cornstarch :-P )
you can also use fresh veggies instead of frozen... some of the beans in there were left overs from supper the night before :-)

10sm or 5lg Potatoes Washed and Cubed (no need to peel them)
3 -4 cups  frozen chopped beans
2 cups frozen corn
1 lb of stew beef (or if you are cheap like me then 1/2lb of stew beef :-P)
One 300g pkg frozen chopped spinach (not in the picture)
Put all veggies and meat in a 9x13 dish

Sauce:
2 tbsp cornstarch mix with a little cold water till dissolved
one cube McCormick's bouillon beef style dissolved in a little bit of boiling water
combine cornstarch and bouillon and add water till there is 2cups of liquid pour over potatoes and veggies, sprinkle garlic powder and paprika and mix it all up.
Bake covered at 400 for an hour.
Enjoy :-)

Biking in the Rain

Can you see my small veggi garden? I'll take some more pics of it on a drier day :-)
