A great week in BC June 2011 (part 1)

We headed out to BC last week Monday - We were a little afraid we would come back with a few inches of water in the basement but, we went anyway :-)
Brian and Laura took care of the house while we were gone, they did a great job! Thanks! Only a little water made it in, with only a little damage, yay!!
Anyway, back to the trip, we headed out at about 5:30am and arrived in Sicamous BC at around 2:30/3:00 Matthew and Miriam brought the bags up to the condo, while Dylan and I unpacked. Then we went for a little walk to stretch our legs and Miriam and I picked a few wild flowers. It was very nice out there! I would recommend that area any day!

Stopped at a gas station along the way. So nice to stretch our legs!

Look at the mountains!

Some wildflowers Miriam and I picked.

After our walk we relaxed, had a yummy supper, and went to bed early :-)

Miriam and Dylan wanted to go in the pool right away! But, we had to buy some tubes first so they had to wait till Tuesday :-)

A BIG thanks to Mr. and Mrs. DB (Bert and Jeanette) for offering us this great holiday! We had such a great stay at their condo, for free! They are a very generous couple! We are truly blessed to know such amazing people! We are also blessed to belong to such a great church community!

Window wells?

Problems with Window wells anyone? We do... and twice in two months, two different houses Matthew was keeping an eye on it in this place so, thankfully, this time it didn't come in the basement!
Ah well, on a positive note, I'm happy that I've been blessed with a husband that is such a handy man! (I know I've said that many times lately but it's true!) :-P

Dylan super happy - Really, what boy wouldn't be - water/rain, mud, power tools, whacking at things etc.

Dylan is learning lots from his Daddy! This little guy tries to help, he likes to hand things to Daddy and tries to find a electrical outlet to plug in the shop vac or, sub pump. I love my men!

I hope you all have a good weekend!

Changes!

Changes are happening!
My sunflower seeds are coming up! ... I'm not so sure if the zinnia's or oriental grass will come up at all. I planted the seeds about 3 weeks ago when I planted all my other potted plants.
The kids seem to LOVE playing in the dirt I have my seeds planted in! Dylan likes to drive his cars on it and Miriam likes to dig in it. So all the seeds I planted by the edge of the garden, most likely won't come up :-( I might try some herbs there instead.

Here are some of the plants I have growing outside.

In the Front:

I bought this basket three weeks ago and it was quite a bit smaller! It sure has grown in the last 3 weeks!

I love pansy's! They are one of my favorite flowers!

Front Garden #1
Lily's, iris' and bleeding hearts

Front garden #2
Some green stuff that should be considered a weed... cuz it sure takes over like weeds do! and can anyone tell me what this other plant is?

The front of the house. Matthew also put up a new front light and new mailbox for me last night :-) We hope to re-shingle the roof, replace the windows, put siding up, then paint the trim black, put shutters and window boxes under the two bedroom windows, and put in a new front door and paint it red. :-) D.V all in the next 5 years or so. We'll see if all that happens, but that's the plan anyway :-P

Now for the backyard:

(By the garage)
See my sunflowers are coming up!! wahoo! We went to the home and garden show a little while ago and we recieved the sunflower seeds free :-) I love sunflowers :-)

Did I mention I love pansy's? I have two of these pots in my backyard. and a few small pots of pansy's on my patio table .

Here are a few of the inside plants we bought since we moved into this house. We tried growing plants in the basement but there wasn't enough light... so almost all of them died... only one survived ... the Easter(?) cactus

The only plant that survived three years in a basement :-)

Yes, the cacti are on the coffee table... ok kids try to get the dirt out of these bad boys! :-P

I'll leave you with a cute pic of my kiddies reading a book this morning :-)

Miriam is convinced she can read and Dylan thinks she can too - just describe the pictures right? That's all there is to it :-P

Lots going on, but not much of a blog post :-P

We have been busy these last few days :-) Matthew has put up the other gate, put screens in the windows (built them with an diy kit from home hardware) put a ceiling fan in our bedroom, put up a few odds and ends around the house, mowed/ weed wacked, watching hockey games (while working) and many other things :-)
I have been keeping busy baking bread, baking cookies, having friends and family over, cleaning, making meals, laundry, sewing diaper liners, curtians, mending, little bits of decorating and all the everyday stuff that comes with taking care of three kids (only two on the weekends though). I've also had some pictures printed, started working on Dylan's one year album (finally) and put pictures in our new frame.
Not a whole lot to actually write a blog post about but, I do have one picture of the frame that I'll share.
I hope you are all having a great week and accomplishing many things on your to-do lists... or having a relaxing week reading or doing a hobby... I'm hoping next week will be more like the latter for us.

I took the picture kinda crooked but you get the idea.

Left side and top three on the right are pictures taken by my talented sister Sherene B
Bottom right is done by a talented lady - muse photography
and the wedding pictures (I'm pretty sure) are taken by
Karen Breukelman and Angela Breukelman.
Thanks everyone!
(P.S. The baby pics of Miriam and Dylan are taken by Matthew or I.)

Almost Wordless Wednesday...

Everyone else is doing it, so I might as well... Here is my wordless Wednesday post, well almost wordless... I don't think I'm much of a wordless person - I'm a bit of a yak :-P
(Lydia P if you are reading this, I still have the stuffed yak you gave me :-P reminds me of you every time I look at it :-P)

Ok here's the post:
