New Bench

Yay!! Matthew built a bench for in our kitchen! Now we can fit more kids around the table! Miriam is VERY impressed with her Daddy! (I'm super impressed with Matthew too!) I'm so glad Matthew could make a custom bench in there cuz, there were three plugs he had to work around, a small space, and I could keep my cubbies, the bottom one is now a potato and onion bin :-)
There is still a little finishing to be done on it but, we thought it would be nice to have it in before my family comes tomorrow :-)

After
The highchair even fits on the bench and I can attach the tray! Now there is way more space for people around our table :-) And I can still put another leaf in the table and a few more chairs around when company comes. :-)

Almost Wordless Wednesday (2)

Oh, boy! I'm on a posting spree :-P

Yay! This is the first time an african violet has bloomed in my house
(besides when I've been given one and they were blooming when they gave it to me.)

Miranda Panda

This one's for my 'big - little' sister Miranda :-)
The pattern is out of the same book that I made my elephant one from. When I seen the panda's I thought of you so, I had to make it for you!
I'll send it back with Mom and Dad this weekend :-) Hope you like it :-)

Miriam holding it so you have a bit of an idea of size... Although, she's holding it away from her so it looks quite a bit bigger than it is.

Dylan thought it was very unfair that Miriam was allowed to hold Mommy's cross-stitch and he wasn't... So, here is one for size with Dylan holding it (this one is more accurate cuz he was holding it closer to him) :-)

New cabinet - Love Ikea :-)

I love shopping at Ikea! I went there with the kids and my mil this weekend and picked up this nifty cabinet. It's supposed to be for shoes but, I'll use it for flyers and loose papers etc. It's very thin so it fits very nicely in our smallish front entry. (I'd had my eye on it for almost 2 months :-P)
I really really wanted to keep the airy feel of the living room/entry so I didn't want to stick anything there that would take up too much space. We considered a bench but, I was scared I would stub my toe on it all the time :-S.
Ikea usually has such great space saving organization cabinets etc. (Although, some of their stuff just make a room a bit to 'cluttery' for me). I could have gotten my Dad or Matthew to make somethings similar for me but, I wasn't sure it would be that much less expensive and I'm a wee bit impatient, I really wanted to get something soon.

The antics of a two year old!

Here are a few pics of my little boy being silly :-)

After a hot day swimming in the backyard pool, what could be better or, more expected than falling asleep at the supper table :-) <3

Dylan's thinking: 'Yay! Auntie Becca's back. Now I can raid her room and steal all her shoes again. They are so fun to walk in!' :-)

I asked Dylan as he was coming up the stairs "What are you doing?" His response... "nafing" lol that's his response to everything lately! :-P

Miriam is 4!

I can't believe it!!! My little baby girl is 4!!! (Time really does fly!)
We threw a birthday party for Miriam on July 11. She really, really wanted a pool party, but... you guessed it... it rained :-( Oh well, we had fun anyway :-).

The CAKE! :-)

BCTrip 2011 part - 2 (Finally)

Ok, so, we've been a little busy and I've been procrastinating but, finally I'm sitting here and typing out this post :-)

Here are some pics we took from the balcony of the condo we were staying at. There were some VERY pretty sunsets!

Here are a few pics from the hike we went on. I don't remember the name of the trail. I do remember that we had checked the weather before we left and it was supposed to be in the 30's so, we all put shorts and tank tops on. Unfortunately the water was rushing very fast and the mist was very cold, the trial also followed the waterfall almost the entire time... brr! :-) We still had a fun time and after the hike we headed to the enchanted forest (pictures from there later in this post.)

And now the Enchanted Forest!
The kids had a blast!! Very cool! we could have spent all day here!

Fish!

The third little pigs house

The old woman who lived in a shoe,

Snow White and the Seven Dwarf's

A Scary Pirate ship... Not sure if you can see them but, Matthew, Miriam and Dylan are on the ship. (click on the picture to enlarge.)

Tea for two.

A cool Tree Trunk House!

My favorite Tree House.

Winnie the Pooh!!

Follow the Yellow Brick Road!

Peek-A-Boo!

The TALL Tree house! - Do you see Dylan at the bottom? :-)

Having a break in the TALL Tree House.

There was a nice nature walk in the Enchanted Forest that we decided to do... Part of the boardwalk part was blocked off because of too much water. If we ever go there again we'll have to finish that nature walk :-)

Ahh!! Found these on the nature hike. Haha, this made me laugh out loud! Love it!

The kids fell FAST asleep on the way home! They had soo much fun!

We also Visited the Revelstoke Dam. This was a neat attraction to visit, they had a little 'play' room downstairs that's great for basically all ages. We also took an elevator all the way to the top of the dam. Miriam was so excited that is was so high, I thought she would be more scared... but, nope.
They didn't allow camera's in the dam so this was the only picture we could get.

We had such a great week up in Mara Lake BC! Other things we did were, taking walks by the condo, visiting the visitor center (a VERY informative attendant was there) and we went for ice cream and the D Dutchman Dairy, (they had a few animals and some calves you could pet). :-)

Can you see now why I decided to procrastinate - this is a super long post and I really didn't want to go through all the pictures lol. I hope you all enjoy it. I'll post about things that have been going on around here soon.
