Getting a little daring...

My monkey children...
Big windows in 7 days!!! And they won't have to climb up dressers that are being fixed in the living room to look out of those windows! :-P (the ceilings in this place are 7 1/2' ceilings so this isn't your average height dresser (it's 43" high)... we had it custom made (Dad B) - and then I broke it. Not because it was poorly made, but because I thought I could move it by myself with all the clothes in it. (I did move it, but broke it in the process.) But my handy hubby fixed it) <3

What have we been up to?

A few pictures of what my kiddies have been up to...

Here is Miriam playing with her lego from Nanna (Mom B). She LOVES playing with this! Such a good 'toy'! Thanks Nanna!

And here is Dylan-
Why is there a diaper and a pair of pants on the floor?

Oh! He's playing dress-up -Do these tights look good with this bathing suit? :-P

Ha ha little stinker! :-P

In other news, Dylan peed on the potty!! Yay! It was a bit of a trick though, I put him on the potty while I was getting the kids ready to go in the bath and filling up the tub :-P I'll try it again next time I put them in the tub :-P

Stage 2 of our messy house :-P

A little update on the 'wet room' situation around here :-)

During the last half of April, my MIL asked if we wanted to use their den for a storage place for our boxes until we move, so that the boxes weren't right in our living room. YAY! We moved the boxes upstairs as soon as we could. In the living room we set up the bed Dylan will be using in the new place, so Dylan could sleep on the bed, instead of having both kids on the couch at nights. Now the room is all dry and the in-laws offered to mud and paint it after we move, so that we could have the room for the kids asap. That sounded great to us :-) So now the kids are in their room again, and our place is getting very empty :-)

The following pictures were taken when the kids were still sleeping in the living room, because we were still drying out the room. I'll post more pics soon of how our place looks now.

A cute boy! :-)

Our living room after all the boxes were moved upstairs.

The dining area

The kids play area. - a bit cramped, but they managed.

Dylan's Hockey Net

I know it's a little late... Dylan's Birthday was on the 11th of April, but better late than never right? Here are 2 pictures of Dylan's birthday present from Dad and Mom (Matthew and Lorelle).
We can't wait to put in our new back yard soon!

Messy House...

Yay! The camera charger is here! I picked it up last night, charged the battery all night and now I can take pictures again :-)

A lot has happened since the last blog post. One of the big exciting things that has happened is that Dylan turned two! Yup my baby is two! Time flies!! We had a party at Mc Donalds because we had no space for kids to play here. Before I started packing we needed more space and then I filled the kids play area with boxes :-P They are going to be watching a bunch of tv in the next little while :-P Maybe this time they'll learn how to read, write, add and subtract... I'm not asking too much am I? :-P (last time we had a busy time and the kids sat in front of the tv for long periods of time, they learned their letters and their sounds all from a educational dvd :-P)

The next big thing that has happened around here, is that I stepped in water on the kids bedroom floor! :-S cold and wet! First we had to find out where it was coming from.
It was coming from the window well, there wasn't proper draining and what was there was clogged. That problem is now fixed - and very well I might add! There will be no more water coming in over there! Now we have to clean up the mess the water made :-S While Rachel, Matthew, and my FIL fixed the window well problem, I took apart the bedroom and then my MIL came with her carpet cleaner. My MIL, Matthew and I took turns vacuuming out the water.
To start we were 4 people in a 2 bedroom place and now we have 4 people in a one bedroom place. :-S but enough furniture for a 2 bedroom.... a bit cramped... Right now we are putting the kids to bed on our bed and transferring them to the couch when we go to bed. This is working VERY well considering all the things that could go wrong!
As you can see from the pictures, we have lots of boxes in our living room now. We moved them from the kids toy area because we weren't sure at the time where the water was coming from and it was getting mighty close to to coming under the wall and saturating all my boxes :-P Here is a bit of how my Monday went.... and I really don't want a Monday like this ever again :-P

Monday morn 5:30am - I hopped in the shower. When I got out Matthew said the cute little girl I babysit wouldn't be coming this morning because she was sick. Oh well. (she was still a bit sick yesterday, poor thing, I hate it when kids are sick :-S but today she seems back to her old self.) I started setting up Dylan's birthday present - a new hockey net! The instructions were less than helpful and actually confused me more than if I would have put the net together with out them... Maybe someone at the factory thought it would be funny if they put the ABC stickers on the wrong rods... Anyway, I coaxed Matthew out of bed to help me and he figured out the last few rods <3
Matthew and I had a quick coffee and then moved all the boxes across the house into the living room. While we were doing that Dylan woke up and was SUPER DUPER excited about his new hockey net! So cute to see his reaction - I wish I could have gotten a video :-) We finished moving the boxes, then Matthew hopped in the shower and I got his lunch ready and the kids ready to go drop Daddy off at work, cuz we needed the van to get to mc donalds for Dylan's birthday party. After dropping Matthew off at work, I decided we were going straight to mc donalds and the kids could play there for a bit before everyone got there. I drove up to the mc donalds I told everyone to go to and the doors were locked... under renovation! What? - they just renovated it! :-S grr... I drove back home tried to remember all the people that had said they were coming, (it was kind of an open invite, so I didn't keep track as well as I should have) I phoned everyone that I could remember that confirmed they were coming and told them the new location... a mc donalds with a play place that was close to the original one. Then I headed over there. We had a great time! I may do this again! The kids loved it and the Mom's had a chance to chat a bit. :-) Just before I was going to head out I remembered someone who had confirmed with me and I had forgotten to call - I FELT SO BAD! I ran home, called her and alas, she had driven around made some calls and couldn't find us :-( SO SORRY!! It was not intended! I truly did forget! The rest of my Monday included picking Matthew up from work, a timmies coffee, taking apart a room, and lots of carpet cleaning...

Here are some pics of our place right now... but be WARNED it is very messy/cluttered!... packing, cleaning up water damage etc. doesn't make for a designer room.... lets just call it - eclectic! :-P

Ok so lets start with the kids sleeping arrangement. They seem pleased as punch to get to sleep on the couch! :-P Yup that's kids for you - always positive in a bad situation :-)
Linda - Dylan won't let go of that balloon! He even wants it beside him when he sleeps! And Miriam is NOT allowed to even look at it :-P

Dylan showing us how it works :-P

The kitchen is fairly unaffected :-)

Some of the packing I was doing before all this moisture made its way into the kids bedroom.

The boxes piled high in the living room.

Where the kids bunk bed is, such a lovely thing to look at while eating... although they say the color blue holds back the appetite - You know if you paint your dining room blue, and eat off of blue plates you'll loose weight... but what about a blue bed right beside the table, will that work as well?

All the rest of the kids stuff that can get a bit wet if it so happened that water came under the wall. And also our changing station :-)

The fairly innocent looking room...

A new full blog post soon :-)

Ok. So. One of the reasons I haven't blogged in a bit is because, I've been busy, busy, busy packing, packing, packing.
Another reason is, we lost the battery charger for our camera :-( We ordered a new one and it should be here on Friday, or Monday. After I charge the battery I'll take some pics of all the boxes and some during one of our daily walks we have been taking lately. The weather is amazing lately!

Till next time. And that will hopefully be soon. :-)

Exciting things are happening!!

Ahh!! This has been one busy and exciting week!

HOUSE SHOPPING, PUTTING OFFERS ON HOUSES, AND ALL THE STRESS THAT COMES WITH IT :-)

We have been looking at the house market for a couple years now. We just noticed that this winter the prices have gone down quite a bit and some livable houses were in our price range again :-P

We chatted with the in-law's (we own a percentage of current home with them - they live up we live down)
We decided it was time to do some house shopping! EXCITING!
The week before we had planned to go house shopping our top two houses dropped in price! EXCITING!
We did some house shopping on Saturday. A BIT MASSIVE THANK-YOU goes out to Armand and Arenda for taking the kids for the day (and at 8:30 am to boot)!!
We put an offer on a house Saturday eve, it went back and forth a few times and we got a GREAT DEAL! It's also move in ready!! No renos??? Well maybe the kitchen in a few years ;-P you've gotta redo the kitchen if your Dad builds them right? And I know what I'll be missing after having a kitchen with so many bells and whistles :-P
Possession date is May 13!! Anyone wanna help us move? ;-P
We are super duper stoked about all this! We get our own yard!!! I can kick the kids downstairs or outside to play! We have a super awesome garage, and WINDOWS!!! YAHOO!!! Oh ya, and two bathrooms!! We are so thankful to be able to have our own house!! Once we move in the friends and family that live close will have to come for a visit and those that live far away will have to come stay at our place for a bit! We even will have a GUEST ROOM for you!!! No more 'borrowing' the in-law's den/extra room upstairs, or cramming you in Miriam and Dylan's room! YAHOO!! Yes, that's right Becca you will even get your own bed!! No more sharing with one of my kids lol! Those are only a few of the things that will change, there are so many more but I won't bore you with them all! :-P
This house is not considered a mansion in our country, but it's a mansion to us - I think anytime you almost double your living space you feel like you are in a mansion! :-) And we even get a double over-sized heated garage!! whoop whoop!! We are both a bit overwhelmed and I have cried quite bit! We are very thankful and feel very blessed to have the opportunity to buy our own house! :-P
Check it out - Here

A BIG HUGE THANK - YOU also goes out to our Realtor, she did an amazing job, she was fast, informative, accommodating and very helpful! She is one of the reasons we got such a great deal!
Also to our mortgage broker for finding us a great interest rate, answering all our questions and sharing so much information that you don't necessarily get when you are dealing directly with the bank. (and to my Uncle Henry for reccommending him)

Till next time!
