A peek at a few minutes in the busy life of my litte boy...

Dylan is a little brat! He climbs on EVERYTHING, he also lunges from thing to thing...he hasn't quite figured out the jumping thing yet, but I'm sure that will be soon :-S I have a hard time even going to the bathroom with him around, never mind showering! Can't stop watching him for even a few mins! And I have tried the playpen and he will stay in there for a bit, but if I'm out of sight then he'll climb out of it :-P Some ppl have suggested duct taping him to the wall to keep him out of trouble, but it wrecks the paint :-P I was talking to someone the other day and they were talking about a velcro wall at a festival they went to...... I could use one of those around here!!
Dylan loves going to the playground and I LOVE taking him there! He can do almost everything Miriam can - slide down the biggest slides, walk/crawl across wobbly bridges etc. This is only the beginning I'm sure, I can't imagine what he'll be like at 15/16! ahh!! I just keep telling myself - it's just a stage, he'll grow out of it, right?
(Check out my facebook for a funny video of him climbing around - I would have posted it on here but I tried and after 4 hrs it still wasn't loaded, so I gave up. I'll try again another day).

How a 14 1/2 month old gets onto the table even if the chair is a little to far from the table to climb on....

Step 1: Climb onto Chair...

Step 2: Regain balance and move into a standing position...
Step 3: Move as far back as you can...
Step 4: Lunge forward...

Step 5: Get into sitting position :-)
(this particular time he also tried to steal Miriam's supper when she wasn't looking)....boys will be boys....

Here is another time I found Dylan dancing around on the table....this is a very regular thing at our house...Dylan climbs on the table, Mom or Dad say "NO" firmly and take him down, Dylan laughs mischievously and does it again in a few mins

COOKIES!!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while :-( I've been having a few problems uploading pics from my camera lately. :-(

I thought I would share a cookie recipe with you today. This is the best chocolate chip cookie recipe EVER! I have been asked for it almost every time I take them somewhere. We have a bit of a tradition in my (Lorelle) Family, for birthday's we put the whole batch of dough onto a cookie sheet and bake a BIG COOKIE, makes a VERY YUMMY Present! :-)

Blue Ribbon Chocolate Chip Cookies

Step 1:
1 cup Brown Sugar
1/2 cup White Sugar
1 cup Butter (softened)
2 large Eggs
2 tsp Vanilla

Step 2:
2 1/2 cups Flour (you can use ww flour, but white tastes best) :-P
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1/4 tsp Salt (I don't usually add salt to my baking)

Step 3:
2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

In a med bowl combine step 1. Add step 2. Add step 3. Blend at low speed until just mixed. Do not over mix. Drop by the spoonful onto a cookie sheet. Bake @ 300F until just browning at the edges. ENJOY!

Edmonton Aviation Museum

We went to The Edmonton Aviation Museum yesterday with Linda, Josh and Shannon. Miriam was very scared of the BIG airplanes at first... Notice her sad face?(click on it to enlarge it) She wouldn't even get out of the van!

Dylan was super excited about the big planes! lol

A training plane, they are yellow so everyone can see them, or as a guide with a bunch of students put it...." the color is like a driver in training sign on the back of a car, it means Watch out I might do something stupid!" LOL!

Miriam overcame her fear and even went in a plane!!PEEK-A -BOO! :-P
If I remember correctly this is one of the first bush planes, it's kinda boat like so it could land on land or water.
A cool helicopter....I don't remember the story on this one.... Josh and Miriam had fun playing with a helicopter in a bubble :-) You are supposed to try to land it, but they really liked flying it :-P (Uncle Byron played with it too)

A nice shiny red Fire Engine :-) ....I don't remember the story on this one either...we were having too much fun climbing on it :-P

Supper!

Soup and bread sticks! It's been rainy and cold here lately, definitely soup weather! :-)

I love thick soup!! lots of veggies! - Carrots, Beans, Leek, Celery, Onions, Potatoes, some hamburger, rice, noodles and spices mmm! (and add some water until the pan is full)

Miriam helping me with the bread sticks.
Her reaction when I told her she couldn't eat them yet....

Add some melted margarine, garlic and Italian spice.

Add some cheese for the last few mins of baking. YUM!
(I forgot to take a pic of the finished soup, oops)

Uncle Byron comes to visit!

Wow! Two posts in one day! :-)

Byron is staying with us this summer, he is hoping to get a job and work out here this summer. Miriam and Dylan don't really want him to find a job, they are having way too much fun having him around!
This is what I see very often during the day! :-) (Notice on the second picture that Miriam has her hand on Uncle Byron's hand? She is trying to make him fall off the race track.)
